Dental Bridge
  • General Description
    • Bridges are artificial devises to replace one or more teeth. It is very important to keep your teeth, crowns and bridges clean. It is advisable to brush your teeth twice a day to keep dental hygiene using a brush, dental floss and cleansers. Remember that the success or failure of your crowns or bridges depend greatly on the care you provide them and on periodical visits to the dentist. The health of your mouth and personal appearance are worth the effort!
  • Technical description Procedure
    • To replace a lost tooth with a bridge, adjoining teeth must be prepared for the crowns. The tooth and crowns are put together as a single piece, cemented to adjoining stumps. Once placed, the patient cannot remove the bridge. The procedure is similar to a crown, but it tales longer to build the bridge.
  • Addition Options
    • In some cases, a resin-based bridge called Maryland Bridge could be used. It does not require wearing adjoining teeth or extensive preparation. Your dentist will choose the proper technique for your case. Bridges can be supported by dental implants integrated on the bone.
Dental Veneers
  • General Description
    • Veneers, also called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates, are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials. They are individually built and are bonded to the teeth.
  • Technical Description Procedure
    • To cement the veneers, the external surface of the tooth must be trimmed. Preparation for a veneer procedure is less traumatic than for crowns, since it requires more trimming.
Partial Prosthesis
  • General Description
    • A partial removable prosthesis at distal extension supported by devices produces additional tension on the pivots. This can be controlled through splinting and the use of elastic or non-blocking devices. It is questionable whether splinting more than two abutment teeth or those with severe loss of support to healthy adjoining abutment is advisable.
Dental Bleaching
  • General Description
    • Dental bleaching aims at modifying the color of the teeth without interfering with its tissues (enamel and dentin). To do this, oxidant gels (that release oxygen) are applied, which are activated by light or heat, and so they make the teeth whiter.
  • Technical Description Procedure
    • This treatment might be performed in:
      • Vital teeth
      • Non-vital teeth, teeth which have been treated with root canal treatment
Dental Cleaning
  • General Description
    • A professional dental cleaning, also known as "dental prophylaxis", is the most important odontological procedure to prevent some diseases and alterations in the mouth area.
  • Technical Description Procedure
    • There are many different ways to perform a professional dental cleaning; it mainly depends on the equipment and the skills and knowledge of the odontologist.
It ideal is to have a cleaning every 6 months. Keep in mind that a dental cleaning is basically a preventive procedure but is not enough to fight and eliminate caries, cavities, and other problems that develop with time.
